The Coffee House is Open 24/7

Ning has changed some features around.

On the tool bar below (?) you will find our "chat" feature: "The Coffee House" where members can meet and visit, discussing whatever is one their minds.

Please remember that, just like in a real coffee house, you may be seen and heard by many people, even ones that you don't know are listening. your comments often linger long after you are gone.

So please remember to keep that in mind when conversing. Be safe and have fun.

Welcome!!

Someone told me once that it is very important to create a community of writers and artists. This is my effort at doing just that. Some of our members have MySpace pages; some do not. But even on MySpace we are not creating the tight community that I believe is essential for all of you to grow. Now we have something open that you can use to show off your talents to each other, to experiment, and to communicate.

Not all our members are from the same area any more and I want us all to feel like we are a part of something big. Because we are! And it will be growing everyday.

This is not my forum. It is yours. I want to see you posting questions and giving responses. We all find our way through this together.

Invite your creative friends to join. Post videos of you reading your work or of a short movie you made. Post your artwork so that we all can see it. You all are very talented. You wouldn't be here otherwise. Use this space that has been set up for you and share your vision with the world.

If you look at the "Latest Activity" column at the bottom of the center column, you will find out what has happened most recently, who our newest members are, the latest work that has been posted for viewing. You can even see what new groups were started or new videos were posted.

Speaking of groups, perhaps poets or scriptwriters want to start a group just to discuss your issues and interests, you can do that now. Anyone on the network can start a group and anyone on the network can join.

I would like to see the photos and videos that you post be a part of your creative endeavors. Create a web series and post episodes; show yourself reading your work or performing a song you wrote; post your photography and visual artwork. The sky is the limit.

The forum is the place for you to ask each other (or me) questions and get opinions and advice. Ask anything you want that has to do with your art or growing as a creative person. Someone may have faced the same issue and will have some wise words to share. The most recent discussions will be visible on the Home page, but if you click "View All," you can see all the discussions that are running.

The events section will contain events that TWAAP and its members are involved in. If you, personally, have an event that you would like to share like an art show, a play you are in or a story or poem that will be published, post it. Let us all share in your success.

This place is all about you and your art. I hope that it will run more smoothly and be more accessible than the other pages, although those will not cease to exist. They each serve a purpose.

Thanks for joining the network. Bring your friends. Let's have a community that grows along with us.

Ms. Z

Writing prompt # 2!

"Library Take-over"

We sit here in the library working on Spanish three,

working in the library, that is, all except for me,

I see a little circus dancing,

the tiny elephants prancing.

Nobody sees them but me,

oh why just me?

The little people are taunting,

while the tiny clowns are haunting.

I see an imaginary big top,

rising with a small pop,

and the tiny, angry ringmaster

The Media Rules the World- Response to Sam's "Wake Up World Writing Prompts"

Okay, so for some reason, its not letting me seperate the stanzas... which is really annoying... so the lines in between should show the separating... i hope... grumble.

Untitled Story Response to Sam's Painting on "Eye of The Beholder"

Okay, so it's not done yet, but I'm really liking this story so far... it's interesting, and I have no clue where it's going, which is always fun. I completely went off of what it was supposed to be about... but I'll get to those characters in the painting eventually... let me know what you think! :D

A Poetic Reply

I read a poem and this is my inspired reply to it. You may see a familar line or phrase or two because I find them to appropriate for this poem.

I’ll take your hand as I fall to the dark black hole
Filled with vermin, worms, and demon wings.

Skeletal hands and banshee wails lap at my ankles

But as always you, my Galahad save me before I am gone

When the rock began to crumble from the stress of soberness you were there

When the fountains ran dry from the sting of th… Continue

poem!

"Oracle"

To survive,

it is evident,

that we most know how to die,

to fear what should be feared.

From Water comes the first warning,

floods fill your oil streaked street...

From Earth is the second,

the ground trembles at your ungrateful feet...

Then from Air,

a tree is blown down, and snaps your power line...

Lastly from Fire,

as it starts from the zap of the line hitting Water,

the tree catches, and s
